About Us The Northern California Chapter of the Lupus Foundation of America was established in 1984 as the Greater Sacramento Chapter of the American Lupus Society,. In 1994 it was incorporated as the Sacramento Chapter of the Lupus Foundation of America (LFA) . In 2001 the Chapter reorganized and expanded its reach to serve all of the counties in Northern Califonia and provide referrals and information for people with lupus throughout the state. Our mission is to support individuals and families affected by lupus, increase awareness of lupus among health professioals and the public, encourage improved diagnosis and treatment of lupus and fund research into the causes and a cure.
